This series of classes are intended to serve as building blocks and reflection tools for helping you manage the health of your body and nervous system.

We will put a big focus on short / simple daily interventions that can be applied in almost any context to build up the skill of deeply concentrating into the body in normal everyday situations.

Class 1: Relaxation Exercises / joint rotation practice

  • Building a connection into the body with relaxation practices and awareness of joint movements

  • Muscle activation and deactivation practices

  • Sensing and feeling when muscles over contract to ‘lock joints’

  • Simple practices of feeling the joints move in a chain like sequence

Class 2: Aligning the body connecting into your spine

  • Floor exercises for feeling the spine and how the ‘core muscles’ activate

  • Focusing on transitional spaces (ie: hip to pelvis, sacrum to lumbar spine, lumbar to thoracic cavity, thoracic to cervical spine, from head down)

  • Connecting to the ground when standing, using gravity to help align the body

  • Exercises to increase the sensing of the spine and make subtle joint adjustments

Class 3: Connecting into the body in everyday circumstances

  • Review and practice small interventions to enhance the connection into your body at any point in time

nathan@fivepointholistic.com

Nathan uses a mix of shiatsu, acupressure, and myofacial based therapies in his treatments. All of Nathan’s work is done over the clothing. When working with injuries and pain elimination the focus is on balancing the joints and muscles that are twisting out of alignment or double contracting. When working with emotional stress, trauma, anxiety, the focus is on creating space for the person to feel more comfortable in their body and connecting them into their midline.
