Class Schedule: Saturdays in February, 3:00-4:15 PM

These 4 classes are intended to serve as building blocks and reflection tools for helping you manage the health of your body and nervous system at home.  Each class will build on basic principles and ideas sequentially.  We will use a smaller vocabulary of movements with greater depth in building an increased awareness in feeling changes in your physical system.

Materials and handout (PDF’s) will be provided.

Class 1 (Feb 7):  Joint Rotation Practice

  • This class will present a variety of short, simple practices for loosening and mobilizing your joints, while listening deeply into the body, we will start with the feet and work our way up into the the head.

Class 2 (Feb 14):  Lower Body

  • This class will focus on the hips, lower back, and core.  We will look at mobilizing, functional strength,  aligning over the feet.

Class 3 (Feb 21): Upper Body

  • This class will focus on the neck and shoulders, aligning and connecting the upper body with the lower body, and bringing tension from the head neck and shoulders down.

Class 4 (Feb 28): Putting it all together and relaxation

  • This class will be an overview of some of the exercises, with the component of full body connection.  There will be an emphasis on relaxation and calming the nervous system as well.

Bodyworker, Licensed Massage Therapist, Five Point Member-Owner

Nathan uses a mix of shiatsu, acupressure, and myofacial based therapies in his treatments. All of Nathan’s work is done over the clothing. When working with injuries and pain elimination the focus is on balancing the joints and muscles that are twisting out of alignment or double contracting. When working with emotional stress, trauma, anxiety, the focus is on creating space for the person to feel more comfortable in their body and connecting them into their midline.
